Schenectady County budget consideration scheduled for Oct. 13

The announced schedule calls for a 7 p.m. meeting at the County Office Building, with a livestream on the county’s YouTube channel.

Consideration of Schenectady County’s 2027 budget is scheduled for Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., according to the timetable the county released Sept. 28.

Residents can attend in the legislative chambers on the sixth floor of the County Office Building at 620 State Street in Schenectady. The county also announced that the meetings would be livestreamed on its YouTube channel.

The budget process covers the county manager’s proposed operating budget for 2027 and a proposed capital improvement program spanning 2027 through 2032. Legislators may modify the proposals before adopting a final budget.

The previously announced timetable called for Interim County Manager Bob Lawton to present the operating budget Sept. 30, followed by review sessions Oct. 5, 6 and 7 and a public hearing and review Oct. 8. The Sept. 28 notice does not confirm whether those sessions took place or identify any resulting changes to the proposals.
