Cohoes Mayor Bill Keeler has released a $30.9 million proposed city budget for 2027 that would keep property taxes unchanged for a seventh consecutive year, according to the city.

The spending plan is 2.65% lower than the adjusted 2026 budget. It would increase the water rate by $0.10 per 1,000 gallons, bringing it to $3.80 per 1,000 gallons. The sewer rate would remain at $3.80 per 1,000 gallons.

The proposal also includes a 3% raise for non-union employees and full staffing across all city departments.

In the city’s announcement, Keeler said the proposal balances the budget without raising property taxes and that revenues remain strong.
